Ahla Tareeq is a treasured piece from the Golden Era of Arabic music. Its dynamic character has inspired many versions and has been used as an introduction to different mejance styles and other musical interpretations.

In this course, we will explore its history, structure, and musical richness. We will analyze its key elements, identify the nuances that distinguish its different versions, and learn to interpret the shifts in rhythm, mood, and energy throughout the piece.

We will then bring this analysis into the body through a dynamic, modern choreography. You will work with musicality, expression, and transitions to connect the elegance of the original version with a contemporary stage interpretation—honoring the essence of this valuable composition while discovering new creative possibilities.

Artistic and Content Director of Orientalisimo Academy, Artistic Director of the Alina Babayan Dance School (Barcelona, 2026), and Artistic Director of Orientalísimo Weekend, International Dance Festival.

He has developed an extensive international career as a performer, choreographer, master teacher and judge at major dance festivals worldwide, working in more than 30 countries across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
